Travelogy Log: Train ride with Strangers

On my brief visit to Allahabad few days back, I saw the world renowned wonders that are present there for example the Sangam, Allahabad fort etc but the really exciting thing that happened was in the train while coming back. I had no return ticket and had to bribe the ticket master to get a seat, a common practice in India.

I thought my train ride would be menial and will meet people who would only want to sleep through the entire journey but instead I met some like minded fellow travelers. I met two girls, one from Kashmir and one from Sikkim and both were travel enthusiast. There was a guy also from Brazil who had devoted his life to Hare Rama Hare Krishna ideologies.

The girl from Kashmir owned a travel agency and specialized in organizing tours in Kashmir and rest of India. She was a chatter box and business women that is the only two traits I could gage from my talks with her. Her philosophies and ideologies about religion were strong as a rock.

The girl from Sikkim was a travel and tourism student who studied in Chandigarh and had done adventure trips in India. She also suggested me some new places to visit in Himachal Pradesh and festival in ladakh which is going to happen in April. She was sweet and her travel stories were mesmerizing.

The third person was from Brazil who had taken up Hare Rama Hare Krishna ideologies and had been in India for seven years. But the interesting thing about this guy was that he was in love with Indian culture and he knew two different Indian languages (Bengali, Hindi, some Indian language which I don’t know, Spanish and English). His praises regarding India convinced me that I was living in the best country in the world but then I lost interest as he started telling me about his religions and gurus as I am unaware about religions and a kind of atheist to be honest.

Chits chatting with these people made the time go by quickly and made my train ride a hunky dory one. Hope to meet people like them soon.

Are You Smiling Enough? Be Happy

Kakvo e shtastieto i deset stupki kum nego 3

Today in the newspaper there was an article about being happy and some pointers were given, I wanted to share this poem with all you as it summarizes those pointers mentioned in the article.

“Promise Yourself

To be so strong that nothing
can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness, and prosperity
to every person you meet.

To make all your friends feel
that there is something in them
To look at the sunny side of everything
and make your optimism come true.

To think only the best, to work only for the best,
and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others
as you are about your own.

To forget the mistakes of the past
and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful countenance at all times
and give every living creature you meet a smile.

To give so much time to the improvement of yourself
that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear,
and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world,
not in loud words but great deeds.
To live in faith that the whole world is on your side
so long as you are true to the best that is in you.”

Peace # Life # Temporary # Permanent

peace-wallpaper-1920x1200 peace-art

People find peace in prayers or with their loved ones around. Peace is fleeting, you just realize the fact that you were in peace for a little while and it vanishes but the funny thing is we experience peace all the time. Family or friends do something for us or even a strange can contribute to this kind act, we feel special, all our stress and worries are gone, we get relieved for that brief period of time. These small moments are for us to embrace, cherish and move on.

I say it’s all in your mind, we are just brainwashed into thinking as society wants us to think. No one will gift wrap peace, decorate it with a ribbon and give it to you. Strictly speaking it is not going to happen. On the other hand, I say you own peace, it’s in your fist; you yourself are the possessor and peace is your slave. People will come and go don’t get attached just follow your goal and you will find peace. Follow your heart you will find peace.

“Peace comes from within.  Do not seek it without.”

Old Familiar Friend

In the crowd I saw a familiar face,
It had been a while since we had met,
The old memories of you and me came to my mind,
I had forgotten your name,
But the feelings remains the same.

The smile on my face told the story,
How much I adored you as the time spent with you was hunky-dory,
In this crowd I spotted a familiar face,
I ran towards you to say some old familiar words.

Your sweet voice touched my heart,
Meeting you is another start,
Old wines and old friends are not apart.

I loved the way we talked till the sunset,
I loved the teasing and the pleasing,
I loved the way when you were by my side,
These are the feeling that I want to show.

A long embrace brought some old memories of you to my mind,
You are a traveler with a zesty soul and a gentle smile,
Full of drama and the fashion sense higher than the empire state,
Sweetest voice with eyes full of hope,
Strong headed and bold as brass,
A little lazy but smart as a whip,
Care and affection runs deep inside you,
You are the real deal,
This is how I feel.

These are some old familiar words that describe you,
Stay in my heart forever my old familiar friend.

We were never meant to be apart, yet this bitter depart

All broken hearts are closer to God,

I can’t convey these hurtful feelings to you my lord,

These feelings are taking over my soul,

The only mistake was letting you go my angel but that wasn’t my goal.

Our relationship involved great love,

The romantic journey with you was full of euphoria,

I always loved your gentle eyes,

The love in your eyes made me feel alive,

You took my hand and we walked till dawn.

I believed in the dangerous idea of love,

Look where it has taken me now,

I found myself on the floor with deep scars on my heart,

I am just waiting for this heart to stop beating.

Singing our favorite hymns, can that fix my broken heart?

Tell me my darling where have you hidden the pieces of my heart?

My darling, come back once to revive my dying heart,

My darling, be my lover again as you promised to play this part,

My darling, tell me why does my heart hurts which magical spells have you cast?

My darling, tell me why this bitter depart?

As they say a broken heart is not fatal only brings immense pain.

All we need is a helping hand…

Life is bewildering and there is no right or wrong answers to it. When you think you have it under control or you know your plan will work out, then life throws some kind of twists and turns to derail us from our paths. The trouble factors may be money matters, emotional needs, career advice, motivate oneself or to keep our secrets safe. When these matters hovers like a black cloud over us, our mind becomes blank, it shuts down and we require intervention from a greater power, help from family members, friends, relatives, even strangers, who we don’t know or in short our guardian angel.

The very wrong notion of fairy tales exist in our world and is often confused with real life, but life isn’t a fairy tale, no merry story, where everything in the end will be all right.  Pain, happiness, tears, love, it’s all here and you will experience it. Every day we make plans, plans for the day, and plans for the future, but we never know how our day is going to end. What adventures or misfortune we are going to face? Instead we just assume it will be interesting but you yourself cannot make the day eventful, you require other peoples help.

My only point is, to get through the day or to feel special we need help from people around us. They help us become stronger, a force of nature, to get over misfortunes and to celebrate our success.

So reach out to the troublesome, give your hand, do something worthwhile, help the oppressed,  don’t hesitate to pull the troubled out of his/her misery.

You will feel good.Image

Friends! a blessing in disguise or just a myth.

They say old friends are like mirrors, they always tell you the true. They also say you outgrow your friends at some point in your life. The thing with friends is, you cry with them, sometimes you lie to them, sometimes you fight with them but at the end of the day you still think they are god’s gift.

You blindly follow your soul double, that’s what I like to call a true friend, into the unknown or a grey area. This friend is like a ray of sunshine in a dark cave, such pure relationship or pure passion whatever you may call it.

Sometimes you also get hurt when you see your friend drifting apart because of some reason you may or may not know. All the love, happiness and faith, fundamentally the bond and emotions between the two friends takes a beating. Giving up on lost relationships might be the paramount option in the near future or is there a “friend’s forever” stage?

I fear of that day when I, myself am the only friend l am left with.
